The Butterfly Effect

Undefeated in 4 tries!

If you are reading this… that means you’ve decided you liked the first article enough to continue reading. Either that or you have a date tonight? HAHA

Type of girl: Freshman year was the first time I tried this movie out. Given the first two times were with the same girl (who happened to be in my astronomy class… yes that’s right astronomy… which is probably the best class to pick up girls… but that’s another article at another time…) lets just say we didn’t get to watch all of the movie the first time. She was on the verge of breaking up with her d-bag of a boyfriend… lets be honest… all girls that are dating someone in college has a d-bag as a boyfriend… unless that guy was you… haha

Anyway… she needed something different from what she was used to (which long relationships usually consisted of boring conversations and the same old physical activity). So one day astronomy I asked her if she has ever seen butterfly effect. By that point it was a pretty new movie so she obviously hadn’t (you think her boyfriend would take her out? Pff hahahaha). On a side note, the movie is now around 6 years old so I highly doubt that any girl has seen it lately. Even if she has she is probably going to want to see it again especially if she is at all into you. Anyway, this girl was an art major so I knew I was in. Normally they like to think a little bit but also leave some things up for interpretation (basically what the other two girls were like).

The movie itself: Thanks to IMDB I’ll give you the summary written by anonymous. So thank you anonymous. “Evan Treborn grows up in a small town with his single, working mother and his friends. He suffers from memory blackouts where he suddenly finds himself somewhere else, confused. Evan's friends and mother hardly believe him, thinking he makes it up just to get out of trouble. As Evan grows up he has less of these blackouts until he seems to have recovered. Since the age of seven he has written a diary of his blackout moments so he can remember what happens. One day at college he starts to read one of his old diaries, and suddenly a flashback hits him like a brick!”

Basically it’s a romantic movie in a really messed up way. The guy seems to be like a hopeless romantic that tries to make everything perfect with him and this girl but only keeps getting into more and more trouble. There are romantic scenes for her… and of course twisted, making you think a little, scenes for both of you. Even if you totally get shut down by the girl at least you didn’t sit through a movie like The Notebook or Dear John or whatever crap girls are watching these days. FYI- It also got a 7.5 out of 10 on IMDB ratings. .
